Question
Why Do Women Have So Many Pairs of Shoes?
Answer?
They hate shopping for bras! I am right, am I not? Every time you start out on a quest for a new bra, you come home with new shoes. Shoes are easy. Shoes are satisfying. You don’t need to see a professional “fitter” to buy shoes. And YOU DON”T HAVE TO GET NAKED!
Finding the right bra can be a shopping trip of nightmarish proportions. No woman really enjoys the process and in despair we usually give up and take the bra the professional bra fitter tells us fits us perfectly. Then for the next six months we can hardly wait to get home to rip the offensive thing off! We often have a drawer full of bras that just don’t quite fit. And I don’t know about you, but I have noticed that you can’t kick your bra off under the table when it hurts, like you can with your shoes!
Don’t you just love the part where you have to GET NAKED? The perky, 20 something professional bra fitter comes in to the fitting room, to measure our sagging 50 something breasts; we try on countless ill fitting bras and finally leave, our egos as deflated as our breasts. Or worse yet, the stern 50 something bra fitter comes in, slapping her measuring tape as if it were a whip. Yikes. No wonder we drag ourselves out of the store, beautifully wrapped parcels in hand, into the nearest bar, hoping to find comfort in a Cosmopolitan or a cold crisp Chardonnay.
This is a true story, as told to me by the woman herself. Dolly – not her real name- went into a bra boutique to buy herself a new bra. She was sized by the professional fitter, of the stern type, and felt intimidated by her. However, Dolly persists in trying on bras in attempt to find the right one. Dolly knows a thing or two about bras. She knows that wires can fit comfortably, if they encircle the breast mound, not pinching anywhere. She knows they are not supposed to poke you underneath the arms, or poke out between your breasts like alien antennae. Dolly knows that it is possible to find a bra that has shoulder straps that sit properly on your shoulders and do not constantly slide down your arms, and that the back band should sit across your back parallel to the floor, not climb up your back. If it climbs up your back, the front is rappelling downwards. Mountain climbers know this theory well. Dolly tells the bra fitter that these bras don’t fit, but she is told she is WRONG. Dolly needs a Cosmopolitan. In the end Dolly buys the bra, the bra fitter has told her is the right one. Dolly tries to return the bra on a day when the fitter that looked after her isn’t there, only to find that the store has “a file” on her. Not a file on her size, preference or requirements, just a notation that she is a “difficult customer”. I wonder what happened to Customer Service?
This is a true story.
Some women have compared bra shopping to having a root canal done! It is no wonder 85% of women are still wearing the wrong sized bra.
Okay, so what can you do, to get your girls into the right sized bra? We want them to be happy, because when the girls are happy, you can look slimmer and younger! The right sized bra will support your breasts making them look perkier (younger) and it will round them up and hold them in closer to your body making you look slimmer.
A custom made bra could be the answer to all your bra problems. Each part of the bra is measured to fit you, and a pattern is created that is uniquely you. A Professional Bra-Maker sews the bra according to your measurements, so the bra fits you. You can sit down and have a cup of coffee with your bra-maker and discuss what you want and need your bra to do for you. You still have to get naked, but you and your bra-maker understand each other and it is all for the cause. It is OK, the girls will be happy. And like the right pair of slippers, the girls will feel like Cinderella in their finely made custom bra.
A Happy Ending
